I looked for info on this a few years ago. There were no scientific studies. It's a black hole of knowledge. Great topic for a thesis.

No one has pointed this out yet? The human nose is designed to be breathing through mostly one nostril at a time, and it occasionally switches back and forth. This is why it's especially noticeable when you have a cold, but even when you're not sick, your body still does it.
not that either is abnormal, but i breath out of both nostrils always less i have a cold and usually a dose of Sinus Buster cures that. Also, excersise helps alot too, get the heart rate up, blood moving and you should beable to breath clearly out of both. adrenaline jump does too.
I also have Allergies most of the colder parts of the year but its mostly runny nose and watery eyes, but still breath through both nostrils.
