There's a lot of negative feelings for pretty much every console from the 360's red rings of death to the Wii's dust collection to PS3's everything. So which one is your favorite?

and maybe try to keep the negative comments to a minimum? please?
 
PS3, 360, and maybe wii.

I own a PS3 and am happy with it. I use it more as a blu-ray player while I catch up on some PC games, but there are enough games to keep me busy counting cross-platform games like The Darkness. Most of the people saying "no games" already have a 360 so ignore everything except exclusives.

I plan to buy a 360, but am waiting for the 65nm redesign. The new heatsink might help the current design fail less, but I have enough PC, PS2 & PS3 games to keep me busy while I wait for the better version.

Wii: I might get one eventually for Raving Rabbids, Metroid series and Resident Evil 4. I'm a PC gamer first and not a big fan of platformers so I never got into Mario and Zelda.
 
360 by a long shot atm.

I own a 360 and a Wii, but right now, the Wii falls into the same category as the PS3 as far as games that I want to play on them.

I'll have a PS3 when it drops down to around 3 or 4 hundred regardless of what games it has at that time.
 
I'm a big fan of the 360 right now simply because I haven't paid more than $25 for a game, and all but 2 were under $20. (NHL 2k7, Madden 06, XBLA Unplugged, Table Tennis, VirtuaTennis 3, PGR3, Saints Row, Battlestations: Midway <- great game). I can't wait until the Wii has been out for another year and older Wii games will be equally cheap. I'm also a big fan of Xbox Live Arcade and Xbox Live in general.

The PS3 - I hate the controller, and I'm not going to pay $600 for a video game system.
 
I voted for the PS3. The Wii pisses me off, and there's nothing that interests me on the 360 (and the controller is uncomfortable).

That said, I spend more time on the PS3 playing "non-games" (Mainichi Issho) than actual ones.
 
It seems that with just about every console, there's something cool about it, while at the same time, there's something that pisses me off about it.

Wii
Pro: NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, I love the first one. It's making me buy a Saturn as there's no emulator that can run the game well.

Sonic and the Secret Rings, I love that blue hedgehog and stuck by him high and low through these hellish 16 years. Except for those two years when I was in hte "I hate it." phase. No matter what it was, I hated it.

Original games on the Virtual Console: This might actually make it worthwhile. I guess it's similar to M$'s XNA.

Cons: The VC (at least right now) is a huge disappointment. Having to re-buy all of your games again just for some saved space and a graphics upgrade. Most of the good games aren't even showing any signs of showing up on the VC. And besides, we have emulators. 😉

The Wiimote fad might die off soon. Hey, the touch-screen gimmick for the DS died off. What says that the Wiimote isn't next?

The Classic Controller makes me want to hurl.


PS3:

Pros: Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. I love that game series. If it never came out, I probably would have sold my PS2 3 years ago for an XboX or a video card.

Cons: It's just like the PS2, just enough hype to drive people away from the competition. In the end, it's just an inferior machine. I'm referring to the Dreamcast vs. PS2.

Pay Beyond. I don't care if the damn thing has a Blu-Ray drive. $600 is too damn much for an inferior game console.

No Anti-Aliasing or Upscaling for PS1/2 games.

PS2 games actually look worse on the PS3 and Sony has had no admittance of this.

I'm just tired of Sony's BS. They're becoming like Apple. Charging too damn much for their products. $250 for a hand held console? That's a load of crap. And they called the reduced package (the one without the memory stick and a copy of Spidey 2) a price reduction?
I'll admit the price reduction (the real one) to 179.99 is a step in the right direction, but it's still too much. The price should be $150. Then, I would be convinced to get a PSP rather than a DS.

XboX 360:

Pros: Chrome Hounds.

XboX Live kicks ass. 😀

The possibility for "73|-| 1337 |-|4X0RZ", if the FTP server hack works on the 360, hello image server, goodbye Photobucket. 😉

I can use the controller for my PC. 😀

Cons: Most of the games are watered down PC ports like the original XboX.

The fact that it uses regular DVDs and that future games may force you to buy an expensive accessory.

Uh... if you actually took off your blinders for a moment, you'd see that they fixed the progressive scan problem months ago and have had PS1/PS2/DVD upscaling for over a month now.

Xbox360: Solid console but doesn't seem all that special compared to the PC. The game types are very similar to what you might find on the PC.
Wii: Too casual and underpowered.

If you're referring to the HD-DVD drive, that will never be used to play games. Games will always come on DVDs.

Died off is the wrong phrase to use. I just don't see as many (if any at all) uses for the stylus. Just about every game that I've seen on the DS recently uses the control pad, or has the stylus used for something that's plain frivolous. (ie. Kirby Squeak Squad)
I guess I should have said that the actual innovation is gone. I hope I'm wrong.

Whenever I see a thread about the HD-DVD drive, someone says that it will be used to play Halo 3. I've seen some really thought out posts concerning the game and the HD-DVD drive. I don't really care since I don't like Halo and won't be buying it.

Microsoft has said that games will always come on DVDs, not HD-DVDs. They'd be crazy to put a game out on HD-DVD. They'd be limiting themselves to a few hundred thousand consoles instead of 10 million+. And for what? 30 GB instead of 9 GB? They'd put a game on 3 discs if they had to.
 
im a fan of the wii, first system i bought, and theres only one game for both the ps3, and x360 on both of the systems. i just like the wii games more, i dont need sports games, and i dont need fighting games. racing and adventure games are pretty much the only ones i play, with a dash of rpgs.

Biased for the 360, because it is probably easier to port games to the PC if it is developed for the 360. If I had to purchase one, I would buy the PS3 for the features and the PS2 / PS1 library (for I have never played them).

Well, all we've seen so far are launch titles which by and large didnt/couldnt use the wii to its max due to time/inexperience, and an industry-wide summer drought (as usual every year), so it shouldnt be a surprise that you havent seen anything incredible yet. The best two titles for the system are Wii sports and Zelda, but theres plenty of *good* and unique games, just not the AAA titles everyone gets all wrapped up in. But theres a hell of a lot coming out soon that may change that - I've got my money that either Smash Bros, Metroid or Mario Galaxy will end up GotY.

Anyways, that being said, the only next gen I own right now is the Wii, but I "support" them all and want to see them all succeed. (and get cheaper 😛 )

Most of the 360 games that interest me are available on PC, so there isnt enough of a software draw for me to pick one up - not to mention theres no way in hell I'll buy it until I can positively get a 65nm chip with upgraded cooling. (and a price drop wouldnt hurt)

The PS3 doesnt offer much of anything yet, mostly for the same reasons as the Wii. Only problem is that its crazy expensive, even compared to the 360, and everything decent is a 360 port - I'll prob pick one up a long time from now unless they drop some AMAZING software worth $600 that the others just can't match.

I dont like the 360 controller either. Much more comfortable with my sixaxis 😀
 
XBOX 360 - With an estimated defective rate of 30-50% as well as some other retarded issues (D-pad), the 360 is a POS whose sole savior was XBOX Live.

Wii - The Wii. New controller. It shows promise, but some of the games that I've played have sluggish controls. For instance: the Godfather. Alternating my punches confused the Wii half the time into thinking that I was only punching with one hand. I felt like I had to slow myself down to a level where it was more like a dance than a punch. On top of this, the library is severely lacking. I seriously think the Wii is selling like hotcakes because of one game - Wii Sports.

PS3 - I'm sure there are tons of annoyances with this console, but I don't own one, so I don't know. Other than that I don't like the console for three reasons:

1. It's Sony.
2. It's still $600.
3. Lack of games.

I still wouldn't use the Blu-Ray player. And I'm still convinced that it's inclusion was only to give the format a fighting chance in an industry that they would have otherwise lost.

I think this generation is the generation of SUCK.
 
The 360 gets my money so far, but the PS3 will be enjoying a new customer soon too. As to supporting them in the fanboy/cheerleader way, hell no.
