Ask my friends that know me.

Mark, IDC, u guys wanna vouch for me. :D

It's true, few go as far to make sure others have some good advice as aigo does.

If he says 940 then you got to realize you are getting advice from the tip of the iceberg so to speak, he can't possibly divulge (partly for legal reasons, partly for sheer enormity of the information that would be involved) all the information behind the advice on these truly leading edge technologies. It goes with the territory.

No one is forced to believe Aigo's advice, and Aigo's hands are tied from providing the proof to support many of his opinions. But if one is really interested in getting some helpful advice then why would you discount Aigo's inputs?

Some people will get what I am saying, others it just won't make any sense. For most people who have never been entrusted with non-public info you probably just don't have the understanding of what the process is like to fully grasp what all is behind the scenes on these things. Employees of Intel and AMD know exactly what I am talking about, as does Aigo.

For the rest of you guys who don't know, please be peaceful and cool about disagreeing with me, Aigo, and the rest of the world. We are not here to waste your time. Happy evening to everyone.

same question was asked what they should get a E6400 vs a E6600.

And guess who won? :p

Same scenario, take me as a grain of salt id say, but the 940 is where i would cut my mark at.

the 965 would be a waste, the 940 is the sweet spot.

I have to disagree with you on this one. The best thing to do is to buy the 920, overclock it and invest the money saved on a high end video card and a veloci-raptor.

Funny isnt it?

Ive seen 920, 940, 965's.

Ask a current i7 owner what he also recomends. :)

can i remind you guys your talking to someone who has these?

whatever, take me as a grain of salt.

Aigo, would you still recommend a 940 over a 920 for someone who doesn't overclock?

For the price delta between a 920 and a 940 you also got to figure even if you fry your ram OC'ing the 920 you could replace the ram and still come out cheaper than having bought a 940 straight up.

On the other hand I am one of those "lazy" overclockers who bought the QX6700 when it first came out so I could just dial the multiplier to wherever I wanted to go, so I'd probably be inclined to buy the 965 and just be done with it.
