Yeah...that was one of the OP's 2 options...

To the OP: I'd go with the Intellimouse Explorer. Much better value, there's a tilt wheel, plus you can't really see it in the pic, but there's two left side buttons.

Edit: And before you go thinking I'm some MS fangirl, I don't own the Intellimouse Explorer, I use Logitechs exclusively. But I've tried the IE out at a store and liked it, and if wasn't for the fact that my MX500's smaller size fits my hand better, I would have gotten the MS one.

Intellimouse out of those two.

But as far as best gaming mouse, Logitech MX518? but it is corded. I have a MX1000 right now and it is flawless but pricey, but cordless and wireless (can fetch them on sale for $30-40 tho now.).

Wait a minute, I just take a look at the second mouse you linked. You do realize that's a wired mouse, right? It's not wireless as it says in your description.

i have a MS wireless optical and then this logitech wireless optical from a LX500 set

the logitech burns though my rechargable's like crazy (2000mAh), while the microsoft takes ONE AA and lasts for at least 2 months.

top one is wireless.
bottom one is wired.

Neither were designed with gaming in mind. So, it's a toss.

I have the MX1000 myself.

the Logitech MX 1000 has a nice rechargeable base station and fully charged it lasts about 4-5 days, and I use it a lot. But I generally just cradle it before I go to bed every other night.

Yea i just realized that the mouse i linked was for a corded mouse. The logitech model that is wireless goes for 29.99.

My main concern with the ms mouse is the size of the mouse. I have a limited area for the mouse because i have a keyboard tray slide out and the keyboard takes up everything but a few inches.

In any case, looks like im going for the microsoft intellimouse explorer. For 15 bucks, i couldn't really go wrong especially when it's wireless.

The MS wireless mice > Logitech wireless mice, except in the case of the MX-1000...okay, & maybe the MX-700.

I've got the LX500 combo (the mouse model is the Cordless Click Plus) and have the same problem with the mouse draining batteries fast. A set of freshly charged batteries ususally last less than 2 weeks.
