Which Motherboard/Processor Combo

or www.monarchcomputing.

I dunno what links you put up. Don't have time to read them. But if you want the best mainboard/CPU combo right now. As far as performance for the money

3800+ (Venice, Rev E) and run it at 2.8ghz with (Thermalright XP-120 and a 120mm panaflo (115cfm) fan). Run the chip at 1.55v
Use a DFI lanparty nF4 Ultra-D mainboard, that's the fastest nF4 board, and running a 3800+ Venice at 2.8ghz will give you the best game performance right now with simple air cooling. I listed the best air cooling solution above. Obviously, use AS5 as well.

People will try to tell you to get a 3200+ Venice, and OC it to 2.8, but there's been alot of problems with some of the 3200+ yields as far as OC'ing all the way up to 2.8. Most seem to only go to 2.5-2.6 stable.

3800+ Venice hasn't ever had a problem. It's worth the extra money.

I'm looking at monarchcomputers.com now. I'm liking their stuff a whole lot better than tigerdirect. Thanks for that bit of info. I didn't realize tigerdirect charged $15 to ship a motherboard and cpu for UPS ground. That's pretty dumb.

Does a this config. sound good?
DFI KM400MLV $47
AMD Sempron 2500+ Retail $67

Why post if you have nothing to say?

Because double posting is frowned upon. But to answer your question I would go with either the Abit, or the Aopen. I know Aopen doesn't seem to be talked about much, but I have had several of their boards and they have all been great, with some pretty decent overclocking features as well.
