8RDA+, from what i've seen has been highly regarded as the best MB bang for buck. tho i don't have a mb with a nforce2 chipset, i have done my research =)

i'd say go for this one if you want a nforce2 chipset.

If ya get NF7-S, make sure it's revision 1.2. Sold at excaliberPC. And NF7-S rev 1.2 gets my vote.😉

NF7-S 1.2 is easily the best bang for the buck. I got it a few days ago at gameve.com for $120 shipped.

I also recommand abit mobo 🙂

although im not currently using abit mobo on my main board (im using ecs k7s5a, which i did vcore mod and chipset heatsink mod and bunch of other mods 😛), i still have abit BH6 as my secondary machine and its running hella strong!

it started with celeron 300 overclocked to 450
now its running an o/ced celly 950 non stop 🙂

Looks like the NF7-S is the way to go 😀 Is there any way you can tell it's a NF7-S rev 1.2 from the specs? Or is it most likely not a 1.2 if the site doesn't say "revision 1.2" heh.. 'cause i have to get it from an aussie site 😉

Sadly, it's not possible to tell from the specs. I would look for a garauntee from a computer hardware vendor.

If you can actually see the motherboard, then there are a couple of visual differences. THe rev 1.2 has a jumper next to the PS2 ports, the 1.0/1.1 don't. Also, between the cpu socket and ports, there are 4 capacitors inline with each other with another one closer to the northbridge on the rev 1.2 compared to 5 inline on the rev1.0/1.1. (there are 5 capacitors on both)

i love my Ga-7VAXP! easy to overclock 5/1 divider kicked in really easy, dip switch on board allows for 100/133/166 fsb's. really cake to use. FSB u can change in bios. ATA RAID lets u run like 8 IDE drives. DDR 400 support.
