bump--i'm leaning towards the acer because it's cheaper, seems decent, and is recommended by AT

acer has CHI-MEI panel,, i would run away and hide.

well ... i have an Acer 1917w [14x9 19" WS] and a Samsung 205BW [16x10 20" WS]

they aren't even in the same class ... one thing you notice instantly -with the Acer you get *terrible* vertical FoV distortion ...
... i am almost embarrassed to have them side-by-side

the strange thing is ... i paid $179 for my Acer back in June when my CRT started to die ... and got my Samsung clearanced at Staples for $135 last month.
