pcchips 810lmr is a very inexpensive and totally integrated (integrated video/sound/LAN/56k)
and its really not that bad of a board, its performance is lacking, but thats cause of its integrated video
by the way its based on the sis 730 chipset that was mentioned above
amptron 810lm and ecs k7sem are all basically the same as the pcchips 810lmr (with the exception that i dont think the ecs k7sem comes with the 56k modem)
i had pc chips 810 LMR.
it's got onboard everything.
video... (it's got an agp port... so if at a later time want to get a powerful v-card... you can)
sound
lan
56k modem
you should be able to get this board for about 60+shipping(around 10)
while this board is nice and compact.... and you don't have to spend any money on any card...
performance does lack compared to say kt266a chipsets or sis735's.
i think the better way to go is to set yourself a budget and get the fastest combo.
Well, the comp it is going in is for a neighbor (don't start flaming about not to build it). They did not specifically set a budget, but I know it needs to be fairly low.
Any suggestions will work though, I can present them with options.
