Which mobo to get for a Duron 1+ ghz to use as a home server?

it's been a while since i built my last computer and am completely behind the times as to which chipsets to use w/which cpu.

my goal is to build a cheap server for home. thus looking for a cheap mobo for a duron and has built in video. built in network card is a plus, but i have a spare nic. I don't need raid and overclocking doesn't matter.

i'm probably going to buy it at newegg.com (cpu + mobo and probably hd).

also, anyone know of a good place to buy a barebones kit (case/floppy/cdrom/etc)? Newegg doesnt seem to sell kits.

usually barebones are mobo+cpu+case+sometimes floppy.
If your goal is a cheap server just get the cheapest mobo

yeah, but which mobo for a duron 1+ ghz? or will any amd mobo sold on newegg do?

I was making a homer server as well and was looking into the BIOSTAR M7VKS, on board sound and video also a small motherboard.
I went with the M6VLQ and a celly 1ghz instead though (on board lan too).
The M7VKS looks good for personal use I think

I think the ECS K7S5A would serve you well. It has great stability in combination with onboard LAN and sound. Let's not forget the extremely low price either.

- Also do yourself a favor,make it headless, put win2k server on it and use terminal services...
Much easier....
