This is how it works. When a threat of war is inevitable first to respond is the intelligence community they gather information on different asset which include acquiring information on enemy air force bases enemy oil refineries enemy anti air craft batteries and hvt location. America has the most advanced air force in the world so first up would be special forces. The special forces normally sneaks into enemy territory and disables enemy anti air warfare system which are Sam torrents anti air craft batteries stinger and javelin sites.once this is completed then the air force moves in to do bombing runs and strategic airstrikes against the assets that the intelligence community gained. Normally the us bombards air force bases to gain control of them so our planes can land along side the special forces. Once we have air dominance we start deploying the Navy to gain sea dominance. The Navy will all so assist the air force in the bombardment with tomahawk cruise missiles and other sea to land munitions. Once the enemy strong hold is located a mixture of us army navy and Marines are deployed to start pushing through to the strong hold all with different operation missions and that's how the us kick ass

Thank you Charles. I believe the first forces deployed are the propagandists who sell the war to the American people. It's a pretty easy job.

When it comes to the ground campaign,
Im saying the Marines go in first
others are saying its the Army. Which is it?

I cant find info anywhere saying which service branch goes in first.

Thanks
Depends on where you're headed. If it is bare bones generally your Navy Seabees and your Air Force Red Horse/Combat Communications units will go in and get shop set up, networks installed, housing, operation centers, etc, along with Army and Marine units for security.

Yeah....gotta have something to transport the Marines on.

A carrier strike group does not transport marines., you got the carrier, a few destroyers, frigates and 1 or 2 subs all to protect the carrier. and a couple supply ships for replenishment.

Marines are the only ones who the pres can deploy without any congress approval.

JohnOfSheffield, fyi, Marines are always capitalized. Again, the only branch that is.

The reason Marine is capitalized is because it part of a title. It is a proper noun. You can't call a soldier an Army. Marine is part of the official title United States Marine Corps hence the capitalization.

I would like to point out that the Marine Corp is under the Department of the Navy.

My thinking has evolved on this. I think that another group beats the propagandists to the party. Without the internet, how would the military know what to do?

You can if they're an Army of one. :colbert:
