So, who has the fastest internet connection here?
I know i'm not the person right now... i'm in a rented apt. using DSL, my speed maxes out at around 65 kb/s. At school thought i've gotten up to 1100 kb/s.
What about all of you?
At work I have 2 DS3 (thats over 40 T/1's) about half of that gets used up for Internet Bandwith.....I am ususally limited by the speed of the servers I connect to.
i iddn't think that speed was possible in AIM... especially since its obviously not designed to handle larger file transfers. i tried transferring a 600 MB video to a friend in the same network, it took eabout 15 mins just to process the send, and froze up the computer while doing so.
i'm serious yo.......
it was a 100 meg file, sent at a *peak* of 16 megs/sec (for a few secs) then stayed around 8-11 meg/sec for a bit
it started off around 2-3 megs a sec so the whole thing took maybe 15-20 secs?
I could care less if you guys don't believe me, I'm pretty sure that the only way a 100 meg file can be sent in 15-20 secs is by going at a bare min of 5 megs a sec
<< OC192. It's quite nice. 9.6 gigabits per second. >>
that IS impressive. holy!! bet you must get held up on practically every site, there must be some bottleneck somewhere along the way! but i can imagine how fast the intranet must be... i'm assuming this is networked.
it was on my T3 at college in the middle of the week in the middle of the day.
sonoma state has ~8k peeps, prolly only 2k comps on the network, prolly only 500 (or less even) actually using the network and prolly only like 20-50 actually downloading/uploading crap with it when I sent
I'm not trying to lie and become really cool by telling you I sent a file at 16 megs a sec for a few seconds once......
I mean come on now.......why would I want to be cool for that esp by your standards?!
it means that I could care less about who thinks I'm cool........especially people I don't know, who don't know me, on a fourm website filled with a major portion of societies "nerds and dorks"
