WHich luxury car for this price range?

Friend's dad has 70-95k to spend on a new car. He wants an automatic, so no used ferrari or something, and NEW. He said something a little sporty wouldn't hurt, but it needs to be a sedan with 4 doors.

He has a mercedes, S class i believe, so naturally he's considering mercedes again. He's also considering BMW.

Which cars should he be looking at?

Phaeton 😛

But seriously, why in the world would your friends parents take the advice of a 16 year old kid on a $90,000 purchase?

Can you get the Audi RS6 here?

Audi is between generations, so not at the moment. They did sell the RS6 in the old body style here.

Well the new A6 isn't out in Europe either.

But we do get the RS6 (yes Canada gets it for the first time now too)...I've seen one on the road.

So sweet it hurts.

The best is the Audi A8R[sic?] diesel. Get's like 800 miles to the tank @ 19.8Gallons(About 40mpg)

oh, and it has twin turbos😀😀😀😀😀😀

Problem is i don;t think they sell it in the us🙁

If he can get teh Audi Rs6 he should be fine...javascript😱penNamedWindowFixed('/rs_6_microsite','rs_6','750','550')

It managed to get 800 miles on a tank because Jeremy used next to nothing in the car. It gets lower mpg when you actually used it normally.

Regardless of that, it is a European version of the car. There is only one version for sale in the U.S. and that is the A8L 4.2l and soon the A8L 6.0l.(Next year we get a short wheel-based version)

We have an S500 amazing car. BUT an S600 would be MUCH nicer.

Get a year old S600 witha bout 15 k miles for 90K, it has a twin turbo V12 stock and is VERY luxurious.

It is the best of BOTH worlds. Hands down no competition.

Im purchasing an E500 in the next few weeks, and as nice as the E55 is, it does not hold a candle to the S600 🙂

Those were my thoughts, too. Not only taking advice from a 16 y.o., but taking advice from this forum, none-the-less. 😉

Mercedes E55 AMG or Audi A8L.

Great choices for what he's looking for.

However, if I was looking in that price range, for a new sporty 4-door, I'd definitely take a look at the Pininfarina designed Maserati Quattroporte. There's just something beautiful about the way an Italian engine sounds.

Maserati Quattroporte

Worth at least a test drive.

he should stick with mercedes,

I personally like the E series a lot, The S Series is great too but i don't see what you get for 40K more from an E class to an S class thats worth it.

Status symbol my young grasshopper 😉

I don't know if it's the case with my friend, but if they have the money, I guess they should go all out and get what they like.

Not agile and powerful enough and not comfortable enough for a lux.

I know I am a car show whore..but they have a point.
