which low-mid end 939 motherboard with pci-express

whats the best bang for in the low to mid end motherboards? By that i mean pretty much non-sli and "okay" onboard sound card motherboards. id prefer to spend under 110 for one. and should be one of the more known brands such as asus, msi, gigabyte, chaintech, etc.

i had considered the vnf4 but have found that there a quite a few threads saying it had problems. anyone recommend me different one?

The RS480M2-IL from MSI might be OK for you - it is at prices of some 90+ USD. It has some onboard audio (Realtek ALC658C), 10/100 network, 1PCIE 16x and 3PCI slots, microATX form factor, SPDIF, analog VGA with Composite and SVideo, 4 SATA (no NCQ) and 2IDE, Firewire, 8 USB
The bad? No overclocking, USB2 transfers slower than on other chipsets (half as fast, twice as much CPU utilisation) - don't use with USB hard disks if you are weak at heart
For use of the onboard video, I suggest you to use some CL2 memory

I have the vnf4ultra, I think it's a great board. Haven't had any problems with it. What problems are you talking about? The problems I've seeen are that it doesn't work with pci(regular) video, the original bios doesn't oc well, the original chipset heatsink could overheat when overclocked. The newer bios allow good oc's, and now the boards have active cooling, so it should be cooler. Oh, it doesn't have firewire, but I've never used firewire, everything's usb2.0, or so it seems.

I have the MSI RS480M2-IL and it's been terrific. Fast performance, very stable, lots of features. The board itself doesn't offer overclocking features, but reports of software overclocking have been very positive so far.

This board is readily available at Mwave, Newegg, or ZipZoomFly...

the RS480M2-IL seems like a terrific motherboard and i would get it if it werent for the unability to overclock.

I chose a more slower cpu of the a64 line with the intent of overclocking it to higher speeds to save money. If the MSI K8N Neo4-F overclocks somewhat well, i will be definitely be getting that due to the low price.

Will i be able to get it up to 3400+ speeds? That would be my minimum goal and higher would be even better.

The Foxconn Winfast NF4UK8AA-EKRS is an awesome board. Newegg has it for 104. It is an ultra 4. It has been rated great. With the latest bios updates it is not too bad for overclocking either. Not a great overclocker but if it is stock you want I don't think you will find a better board for the price.

Would me money be well spend if i just paid more for a msi k8n neo platnium (non-sli)? I heard that board overclocks real nicely
