HP OmniBooks have both a Stick and Touchpad. Unfortunatly, HPs suck IMHO.

Dell has both also. I recommend them :)
Also check out toshiba, the ones we have at work have the "eraser head" mouse and no touchpad.

We got a Dell Inspiron with 14" screen. Really nice and it has both Joystick and pad.

I can understand why you would only want a TrackPoint style pointing device for your laptop, those touchpads have always annoyed me as well. I am curious as to why you don't just get another IBM. Other than a slight price premium (which I have found to usually be offset by an increased number of included features) I fail to see why anyone would buy something other than a ThinkPad for a laptop. I will admit that Dells are nice as well, but there is no substitute in my mind for a ThinkPad. About the Dells having both the touchpad and the TrackPoint style pointing devices; I believe that this is ONLY on the Latitude models. Inspirons only have the touchpad as far as I know. To look at the Latitude line you must click the link for "Medium and Large Business" on Dell's website. The Latitude line does not appear on the "Home or Home Office" page.

EDIT: Apparently I was wrong about the Inspirons only having a touchpad. Sorry for my mis-information. Still, I prefer the Latitude line's specs over the Inspiron line's if you have to go Dell.

1. IBM Thinkpads
2. Toshibas
3. HP
4. WinBook
5. Twinhead
6. Dell

Those are the ones I know of . . . there may be more. Like you . . . I also prefer the stick. The touchpad interferes with my hands resting on the laptop when typing . . . so I turn it off. I usually use a PS/2 mouse anyway.

thanks for the replies so far.

Zenmervolt, another thinkpad is by no means ruled out, in fact, they're #1 on my list right now, i just want to see what else is out there

I like the little stick pointing device also. I hate touch pads..
