I am in the process of getting a new laptop either a Dell 41XX series or from powernotebooks.com PowerPro IV:14.

The dell comes with a 32MB ATI radeon mobility 7500
The PowerPro comes with a 32MB GeForce4 420 Go

Only if the PowerPro would come with a GeForce4 460 Go, then my decision would be much easier. At any rate, I was
wondering if anybody can tell me which video card would be faster in gaming? I mainly want to play WarCraft 3 and
maybe some counter strike and maybe some EA sports game. I will use the laptop mainly for business, thats why I
didn't go all out to get a desktop replacement.

So, if anyone can give me some feed back if you have any experience with the above 2 video cards in your laptop,
please help me out.

Thanks.

I have a Toshiba Satellite with the 32 meg 440 Go. Now this chip is based on the GF4 MX series
so it doesn't have pixel shaders or any of the really nice features, but I don't think any laptop
chipset has that yet.

Only 3D game I play on it is Everquest, which is quite demanding, and I was pretty impressed
with the graphics and speed. Gaming on a laptop is nowhere near a desktop setup, but it is
quite tolerable on the laptop. I wish it would have had 64 meg of video memory though, but
32 seems to work fine also.

When I was in the desert, someone there had a laptop with the ATI 7500 series, and that looked
and performed very well also.

But video on a laptop is very important. You need to keep in mind, that you cannot use the latest
unified video drivers, you are left at the mercy of the laptop manufacturer to supply the drivers, as
neither nVidia or ATI support laptop drivers.

And whatever you do, no matter how tempting the price is, do not buy a laptop with the S3 Twister
video. They are still selling laptops with this video chip, and well, it goes without saying, never buy
something when the company that made the chipset is no longer in business.
