Which Laptop To Buy? Some Feedback, Advice Please.

I am currently shopping for a new laptop. It is mainly for business, but I do a lot of gaming on the side. I am looking for something that is 1" think or less, very portable and has a good sturdy shell. First I started to look at the Dell D600, but the reviews shows that the shell is not very sturdy. So I stated eyeing on this Samsung X10 xtc1600 and I was convinced this was the one for me. The only problem is that this laptop is not sold in the US, and my dad was at Korea, and he was going to get me this laptop but there was 20 day wait so he couldn't get it. So I'm stuck with looking trying find myself a laptop here in the US. I did not like the Sony Z series, because it get "fatter" as it gets to the back of the laptop. I was interested on the IBM T40, but did not feel like it would be good with gaming. So I now need some advice..so far I've looked at the Acer, IMB, Dell, Sony and Asus. Any other suggestion would be very helpfull.

I've got an inspiron 600m and it's sturdy enough. I didn't expect a rock since I barely paid $1000 for it, but it's a decent enough machine. The Latitude D600 are built much better. It's supposed to be Dell's flagship business laptop, so they put a little more quality into the chasis. They wouldn't want to lose corporate market share to another company.
