Which laptop cpu is better of these 2? (intel/amd)

Sup peeps,

so i have an A64 3000+, 1.8Ghz, 800FSB, 1mb L2, Clawhammer
and looking at an Pentium M 730 1.6GHz, 533MHz FSB, 2mb L2 cache, Dothan core

dont get me wrong im an AMD guy, but will that pentium beat the amd?
ive heard somewere that blah blah the 1.6 pentium runs like a 3.2 desktop etc,
so thats my confusion.

The 1.6 Dothan will run about the same as the 1.8 AMD64 3000+ for Office Applications/games etc. It doesn't have 64bit or SSE3 but that isn't a big deal right now. The Dothan will obliterate that AMD in the battery life (the Clawhammer I believe is a 130nm part). There really isn't a comparison between the two in my book. Now if you had a 1.6 Turion up there than the contest gets a little closer but the Dothan would still win in battery life (I think mainly to the late arrival of the Turion and lack of good notebook design last year: [notebooks are often designed and released in January/February cycle and Turion was late].
