I am in the process of buying a new bed.. which would you guys get??? Iwant to get a king.. now that I finally can and can fit it in a room.

CA King = 72 x 84
Eastern King = 76 x 80

Which one?? Also, I found that costco has the sealy beds.. specifically the Guilmont which you don't have to flip every 3 mos?? And it costs around $600.. however, a local furniture place told me to get the Simmons Beauty Rest.. and the mattress alone is $600??

Any suggestions?

Make sure you can get sheets to fit the bed, we have a california king and it's a pain to find sheets(in AZ)

Oh yeah , I second the motion above. CA king sheet sets are pretty hard to find locally, and basically you are going to be looking online for most of your sheet sets. Good luck trying to find something nice by looking at a 1 inch square pic.

Go Eastern, you'll be happy you did.

Really?? I heard the opposite.. that eastern was harder to find? I am in California.. does that mean it'll be easier for me to find sheets?

How 'bout for the mattress? I am looking at the one Costco sells.. seems reasonably priced, but I don't really know..

if you're shopping online, you should be able to choose either eastern or ca king - it's easy to find either. i'd suggest a couple of sites for inexpensive luxury bedding - www.smartbargains.com and www.overstock.com

as for recommendations on a bed, i've heard tempur-pedic are great, they help to reduce back pain if you suffer from that

We tried out many, many mattresses over a month or so...........settled on a Sterns and Foster pillow top. First bed to make me not hear the alarm clock and first to make sleeping on my back actually enjoyable. It absolutely put to shame all the Sealy and Serta we tried....and we tried every one we came across, up to $1400 sets.

Check out your local Select Comfort store (assuming you have one). We have one of their beds and my wife thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread. They make the air-filled ones where ou can adjust how firm they are. They also have like a 20 year warranty so you know you won't have to buy a new mattress any time soon....

If you go there, let me know and you can be refer me and I think I get a gift certificate or something. heh heh.

Thanks for all the suggestinos everyone!! I found out that CA King sheets are easy to find since I'm in CA.. but anywhere else, it's a PITA.

As for which mattress, I think I'll check out a few clearance centers.. then go from there.. if Ic an't find one, I'll just order one from costco. Actually I really only need the matttress and not box springs since I have a platform frame..

Just gotta figure out what sheets and pillow coverigns i want.. =)
