Not factoring in what you'd actually be doing, would you rather work 10 hours a week for $25k per year or 50 hours a week for $100k per year?

It's earier with:
10hours/week $250,000/year
50hours/week $1,00,000/year
I'd do the 10 hours a week under scenario 1. Heck, I'd even take 10 hours in this scenario:
10hours/week $100,000/year
50hours/week $500,000/year
But when you are start talking about annual incomes of $25K ... there is no way I would do it.

I know quite a few people who live on a sub-30k income and are quite comfortable. If you don't have kids or a car, 30k is a lot of money. My "poor" friends still have big screen TVs and a PS3 with lots of games, but they need to take the bus everywhere.
I would work 50 hours for the big money. I go crazy when I'm doing nothing for too long. There becomes no sense of urgency in anything I do; my time is not worth anything because there is so much of it. In this past year, there was a brief period where I was a full time university student and I also worked 20 hours per week. I didn't have a lot of free time, but I seemed to get a lot more done in that free time because I valued it too much to sit around and do nothing. I had dates and game nights and movie nights planned a full week in advance just so my free time was not being wasted. Any time in the past that I've had a bunch of free time, things like dates and small parties never happen because there was never a rush to make it happen.
