Which is the better position to be in during a fight?

if you've fought before then you can time things enough to wait for their first attack. Hit them while they are trying to recover and dont let them get reset. A mad barrage at the right time with a few good hits will put anyone down.

Just an observation . . ..

It's amazing the amount of fight experts we hate here on ATOT, a computer forum. 😛

Don't hurt me!

*runs away*

This is just my opinion, I'm not fighter, but I know what I'm good at and not good at...I'm not strong, but I'm fairly quick and have good reflexes. Whenever I played dodgeball, I couldn't be hit...although I threw like a girl.

I would not throw the first punch. I'd wait for them to swing and hope for an opening. I'd aim for areas that would do the most damage in one punch, the neck, nose and balls would be my primary focus.

Of course if I were against a boxer or some one who's used to heavy punches...I'd just run.

Amazing. I thought there was always a chance you will react incorrectly and fall into a feint.

If I'm fighting some one that does good feinting moves, I'm already fvcked. I have no training. Against most people, in an open area when I'm ready...I'm actually pretty confident that I could dodge the vast majority of swings. I'm just pretty quick at reacting.

However, dodging isn't going to win a fight unless he's a big fat guy and has a heart attack.

so in a fight, you would stand toe to toe with the dude and just throw punches straight on? I thought the natural tendancy would be to circle him.

Real fights aren't like a boxing match. It's going to the ground one way or another and if neither person knows what they're doing it'll just be a bunch of awkward rolling & weak strikes.

Go for a takedown/hold and make him give up.

Tae Kwon Do, superior defense. Steven Seagal movies exaggerate the ease of breaking joints, but its been done, we just don't see it on TV. Apparently crippling an opponent is against the teachings

superior to what?😕

Won't promise dodging bullets, but it sure as hell can redirect energy against your opponent.

Just my view, but are guys forgetting that your teeth are also weapons? I've rarely seen guys bite other people in a fight.

hit first, hit very hard.

stun them and then knock the dog poo out of them and when they won't get up you're done.

A good strong right cross between the eyes works well, especially when they have their arms at their side posturing...can't block.

always throw the first blow though. words don't hurt or daze.

Real fights usually start awkwardly and end in a beatdown rather quickly.

I have never been in a fight that has gone to the ground, save for the end. Nor have I ever struck first. The majority of comments I see make me wonder just how many people have been in more than a school yard brawl.

LOL. These threads are so funny. e-thugs proffering their mad beatdown skillz.
I guess no one can have an opinion based in logic and experience.
It's impossible that anyone online actually knows how to fight.

Yes. At ATOT - we're just the typical computer nerds, getting into fights at the drop of a hat.
And if people are going by logic alone, which I'm guessing most of these people are (TKD = "superior defense"?) . . . what method of logic are they going by?

The "shout out random things and hope it sounds about right" method?

Any fights I get in now will end on the ground...with an arrest. 😀

It's nice to have that luxury. 😉

I have a friend who is a cop, and it's always fun hanging out with him, because in the back of my mind I know that no matter what happens, we're not getting arrested.

Although it's kinda weird that someone can start a fight with him without knowing that he's a cop, but still get arrested for assaulting an officer...
