Which is the best 16x dvd drive?

Just saw the Creative 16x dvd and the Liteon 16x dvd over at newegg. I want one, which do you recommend I get? They are about the same price, about 50$, which fits my budget nicely. Thanks guys.

the toshiba is quiet but has mediocre DAE as compared to the liteon!
 
Guys I have a poineer 16x slot load I've never used a liteon before I'm buiding a new system for a friend I'll have to check there drives out.

DAE = Digital Audio Extraction. This is important if you like to rip songs from music CD's or make CD to CD copies of music. It controls how fast the music can be pulled off the CD.
 
Ah, well I don't do that a lot...I use clonecd quite a bit tho, and Toshiba seems to be the favorite for that.

Still debating between the Toshiba and the new Asus DVD drive.
 
pioneers are loud but they have slotloads and the DAE is pretty good.
toshibas are very quite but I remeber that the DAE for the 16x was very slow. Also their beige color is more of an off white color. toshibas work well with clonecd.
liteons are medium loud, DAE is excellent, work well with clonecd and are inexpensive.

I have owned all three and I prefer the liteons (currently have 3!), especially when they are/were $38 shipped from dell.

I had a toshiba 4.8x DVD and that thing was horrible. It played DVDs fine, but it was slow on DAE and sometimes it wouldnt read my burned CDs. I dont know if the new toshiba drives have improved at all. I replaced it with a Pioneer 16x slot load and couldnt be happier
