I've been using NT4 SP5 at work for a couple of years in a networked environment, without reinstalling on my workstation and was very very impressed with the stability. Made a number of resets, but rarely. Running on 128 MB and I keep more stuff open than most any three other people combined. Not uncommon for me to have 20 to 30 windows open. Many of the same app (Netscape, Outlook), but I rarely had problems and very few blue screens.
I installed Win2k SP2 Pro on my new home box running 512 MB, thinking I would get at least the same level of stability, but have been so far not impressed. No blue screens yet after a few weeks, but I've already had to hit my reset button 3 or 4 times due to a system that is apparently totally unresponsive (locked up).
I know there's a lot of variables, but I'd like to get some sampling of opinion on the relative stability of the two OSs. Thanks. BTW, I know that SP6 is out for NT, but I've never used it, so that's why I say SP5.
