Hello,

I am seriously considering adding another rig to my repetoir. If anyone out there is running the ATI AIW Radeon 8500 64meg card in there rig, pls tell me what cpu + Mobo they are using and if the rest of you want to give your opinions on which is more stable for ATI AIW Radeon 8500 64meg, Intel P4 or AMD AthlonXP.

By the way, i will also be multimonitoring with three monitors on this new rig so take this into account.

Any and all advise would be appreciated.

Thanx.

You understand the AIW 8500dv can only drive 1 CRT or DFP and 1 TV or VCR right?

As long as you set the system up properly, both the Pentium 4 or the Athlon XP will be stable.

Processor platform really does not have much bearing on the stability of a video card; the video card drivers are pretty much CPU agnostic these days (perhaps with the exception of SSE2 optimisations). Any differences are not going to affect stability anyway.
