I want to go to 64 bit, but am not sure which one is more stable. When I was running XP 64 years ago, I couldn't find any driver support. I'd like to go with Vista. Is Vista 64 worth it?

Yep. Try finding a virus scanner for XP 64 bit. A little more difficult than Vista 64 bit.

Does anyone know of any software at all (that might actually be useful today on an XP-32 machine) that DOESN'T work in Vista - 64?

I was going to get Vista 64 but I still see too many people crying about problems with it. The video cards and such have good 64 support but a whole lot of others things are still headaches (even though not as bad as XP 64). Maybe in another year and Nehalem has been refined and DDR 3 is cheaper and more potent. Buying gobs of DDR 3 for Vista 64 has no appeal for me at the mo - ymmv of course.
Yeah. My Saitek X36 Flight Controller setup. No Vista drivers or software at all and likely never will be. I'm not in the mood to buy a new $1500 joystick/throttle, so I guess I'll be running XP-32 for gaming for the next few years.Originally posted by: Duwelon
