I also agree. Hows the PSU on that Dell? Can the PSU even handle an 8800 card? If they didnt offer it as an option I can only assume it cant.

Yup. It can handle the 7950 GX2, and the 8800 GTS uses about the same amount of power. The GTX wouldn't work though if this is an XPS 410 he's looking at. But the XPS 700 or 710 would run the GTX just fine.

Ok, power usage is fine but what about cooling? I read that the 8800 runs pretty hot.

I would be fine with building my own if it was too much extra money (which seems to be the case), but if I can just switxh out the stock gpu for the 8800, I will.

i wouldn't go with the 8800GTX; the 8800GTS is more than enough. the only reason i would recommend going with the GTX is if you play on a 30" (2560x1600) screen. if you look at anand's review, you'll see that all the benchmarks are at that resolution and the 8800GTX performs significantly faster. but if you drop down to 1920x1200 resolution (24" screen), the 8800GTS is more than adequate in all the games.
