Which is more important?

I'd lean towards science but it all depends what you want to do with it and what you want to do with it in life, because you can live without knowing much of both

Without science we would not have technology (and many other things).
Without art we would just go bonkers.

I don't know. I guess society would get by without art but then again there is much art in science. There is also a lot of science in art.

Neither. Both.

Sometimes, I think the world would be a better place without all the technology that has been introduced into our lives...

Sometimes I agree. Funny that I have technology all around me. Computers, keychain HD, Pocket PC phone, the list goes on. I would give it all up if I could. Some nice island somewhere (nowhere). Then again I can't wait for VR. If I make it that far.

as science is a form of art and art is a form of science, both...

... that's the stupidest answer i could come up with 😕

Both have their importance, but overall, I would have to say that science has certainly improved the quality of life of many more people than art ever could.

Technically, yes, I am a luddite. However, I don't oppose all technology, just technology that enables people to be lazier. Advances in medical research are always good, as are advances in agriculture. However, I think we could live without the electronics that consume our thoughts, and deaden our senses.

Finishing up my midterm paper for Euro Civ, not really wasting time, just taking a break between thought processes.

Excuses, excuses. So what technology are you against? TVs? Videogames? People use those to get away from stress as well. Microwaves? Electric ovens? Well, you might not mind spending 2-3 hrs cooking every meal, but i like the convenience that these technology affords me. Vehicles? Makes us lazy? As much as i hate driving, i would hate to have to bike 5 hours to work everyday.

I said science because as an area of study those who study science are more likely to have a good career.

In terms of where society should be headed? Art is more enlightening. No need to have a society of robots. So really both are important and it's difficult to quantify them.

Your arguement falls apart as, with the absence of the technology, people would not have jobs 5 hours away, you would not know this "convenience," and people would find other ways to relieve stress than plopping down in front of a television, and rotting away. I'm not for taking all this away, as we have it, and I use it. I'm just saying that the world would probably be a better place without them. Less stressed, healthier, more sociable people.
