I've only ever seen the infamous wire hanger scene from Mommie Dearest, but I've got to say that ranks up there with the meathook scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the "cringe" factor.

They are 2 different genre of movie. It's like asking "which taste better, epson salt or sawdust?"

well, yes.
but
if you've seen mommie dearest i think you can definatly see how it fits in all too well under the horror genre.
it feels worse than The Omen. and for my money, is much more chilling than TCSM.

besides, i was a liberal arts student, it was my job to blend genres.

Me, too. That is spooky. Not as sppoky as that one Japanese movie with the kid watching you sleep and stuff under your covers but plenty...

The Shining and Event Horizon, are so far the 2 scariest movies I have seen. However this is not saying much.

I have seen The Ring, Ringu[japanese one], and many other proclaimed scary movies and have not been scared at all.

The Shining and Event Horizon both failed to scare me, but at a few parts the suspense had my heart goin.

During the ring....near the bits at the end me and my mate were laughing at the expression on the kids face when his mum yells" GO TO YOUR ROOM!"....it's classic acting I tell ya....I found it mildy scary in places....the bit with the dead girl in the well freaked me out but the overall horror bits less so.
