it depends on what you're burning.

if you're just straight up copying a dvd, get dvd decrypter! :D

I use Nero. I really like using the actual program, Nero Burning ROM, instead of the easy to use wizard thing. Haven't tried Roxio.

on a side note: does anyone know of a good opensource burning software for Windows?

Nero is easy to use than Roxio I tried it and it is hard to use....way too complicated.

Well, lots of love for Nero so far. And here I've always liked Roxio. Roxio is what my burner came with. I'm thinking of getting a new burner that comes with Nero and was wondering if it was worth checking out.

I'm not sure if these are open source:

http://www.cdburnerxp.se/
http://www.burnatonce.com

But they're both free.

CDBurnerXP looks rather interesting. I went ahead and added a poll for these two, just to see if anyone likes these.

Why don't you try both and see which one you prefer? CD Burner XP has a fancy, but crappy interface. Burnatonce has a minimalist and pretty ugly interface. I prefer my copy of Nero Express that I bought for $10, but I also have burnatonce installed in case I need some more functionality.

Roxio is pure sh!t.

Nero is starting to become bloatware IMO, but it still reigns for overall burning compatibility.
