Why would i want to sell my board and CPU and get a 3200? I have a 3400 right now.....He doesn't want to spend more than $600 and I need a board that won't go over his budget. Still don't know why i would get a 3200 when i have a 3400

because the 3400 u have is socket 754 and newcastle core. the 3200 socket 939 can oc nicely and has the winchester core. plus you will get s939 making it a faster and more upgradabilty.

yes the new Nf4 boards but those are socket 939 socket 754 is dying out.
and you would have to get new video card unless you wanna sell him that too.
also i think xpress 200 is coming around the corner.

The Soltek would be a very good board; consider the budget NF3 250 offerings from Epox and Chaintech as well.

As for PCIe, it remains to be seen whether someone will release an NF4 or K8T890 for S754, but I know at least the NF4 can, in fact, be used with that socket, so there is some hope. If not, then I'm sure AGP midrange cards sufficient enough for gaming will still be available for a sufficient period of time so you can upgrade then. I would advise against getting a PCIe board right now, though, as even if you could afford a S939 they're still quite costly and immature.
