Yeah I have two cards that I am looking at. The GeCube X800XL 256mb, and the Sapphire X800GTO. The X800GTO is $166.00 and the X800XL is $179.00. I found both of these on NEWEGG. They are also both AGP versions. I don't really know about gecube because I have never heard of them. I know the XL is better but which do you think will run better with first person shooters, like BF2 and farcry. I want to stay under $200 so if you have a suggestion please tell me what I should get. thanx Jason

There is a PowerColor X800GTO for $155 that has 475mhz core.

Either way, X800XL is better since it has 16 pipelines ie. 16x400 = 6400 fillrate vs. 475x12 = 5700 for GTO. GTO can match the speed of X800XL if you overclock it. X800XL can also overclock to roughly 430-440mhz on the core though. Overall there won't be a huge difference in performance but X800XL will be faster.

Also would I beable to play BF2 at full settings with the X800XL. I've decided to buy this one because the benchmarks show that it can compete with the 6800gt which is fine by me. Also will I see a huge change between my current card which is a AIW 9200 w/ 128mb (i know its old). thanx jason.

I had an x800xl for a while and it played BF2 pretty good at 1280X1024 @ high 2aa 4af, but at higher resolutions it really struggled. They don't OC well, but it was a solid card that never failed me or the friend that has it now :)

It will blow your 9200 out of the water - literally. (My 9200 is still in my little brothers rig, barley running anything 1024x768 @ low settings)

Can't answer the question regarding BF2, but the difference between the X800XL and your 9200 is night and day. I upgraded from a 9800Pro to an X800xt (basically a little faster version of the X800XL) and the difference was significant. I can't imagine how big of a jump you will notice in your upgrade.

thanx for all the info. I'll definetly get the xl. and yes It cant be a gto2 because I dont think they make an agp version. if they do would it be better than the xt and is it expensive.

Ahhh agp... In that case I'd go with the x800xl, for agp it's the best in that price range.
