Which is better with a quiet fan? SLK600 or AX-7

I don't want any noisy Delta jet engine crap. 🙂 I do plan to overclock my XP1800+ on the Abit KR7A+RAID... so which HSF would be better using a quiet fan? And which quiet fan would be best to use for each heatsink?

I didnt think the SLK600 was out yet... I think ive only seen one pre-release review of it...

Anyways, the AX-7 will be quieter due to the fact that it will take an 80mm rather than a 60mm.

I thought I saw it for sale on a site as well as overclockers.com having reviewed a production sample of it. It isn't in there top ranking comparison list though, so maybe it's not out... The interesting thing about the SLK600 was that there was very little difference given the fan used. This led me to believe that it may be just as effective as a AX-7 with a quiet fan.

Overclockers.com only had a prototype unit.

While the temperatures seem to vary by a few degrees between a 44CFM Delta and a 26CFM YSTech, it's not exactly good evidence that the SKL600 will be a good "quiet" solution. The 60mm 26CFM YSTech fan is spec'd at 33dB! Quiet compared to the Delta, for sure, but against the AX-7 and 80mm fans, it's damn loud. It can't really be said that the temperature would scale linearly as CFM goes down (there's no evidence either way, but I doubt if the CFM dropped another 18CFM from YSTech's 26CFM that the temperature would only go up another 1-2C, as what happened between the Delta at 44CFM and the YSTech), I have a feeling below 26CFM, the temperature would start to climb really fast.

What would be the quietest, most effective fan to put on the AX-7 then? I'm sure as hell glad they gave that AX-7 a 3-prong clip for production.

Y.S. Tech 28 dB(A)/38 cfm fan or a Panaflo L/M/H 1A I'd venture to guess. I'm personally going to put an H1A on it first and then the Y.S. Tech and compare the two temperatures.
