Which is better for temps? Reservoir or no reservoir?

I had started a thread earlier today that kind of morphed into weather or not a reservoir actually lowered temps, or if it had any effect whatsoever. here's everybody who ever had both setups a chance to chime in and let us know what kind of temps and results you got?

I voted for Reservoir, but not for temps. A Reservoir makes filling your watercooler easier and gives a slightly slower rise in temps, but if the pump is submersed in the reservoir, your temps will be slightly higher (not much if your radiator is adequate).

Depends really on the reservoir. I had to say 'with'. I noticed about a 1*C difference with the reservoir on my Danger Den water cooling system!

Voted "with"..... only for ease of use. I've had both a reservoir and a T-line setup and there was no difference in temperatures.

I vote that a reservoir is better, but not because of temps. Reservoir just makes it easier to purge bubbles, and is faster to fill. I have a custom-made reservoir/bubble-trap attached to my in-line pump, and it's lots faster to fill than when I had a tee. I don't really have to fill very often, but still...

As for water temps, it doesn't make a difference.

I agree with all the posts above. With my reservoir it's so much easier & faster to bleed my system which is a plus since I fiddle with my wc occasionally.

with. the more coolant the longer your temps should stay lower.

temps may be lower for about 1/2 second longer than with a T-line...then it will stabilize and be the same temp :D

correct you are. but itll be alot longer than 1/2 a second :p
but either way a res is still easier to fill and bleed :)

i think with a res, u could also add a bit more money and put a rad before and after the res.. for super cool water.

I was thinkng sbout putting the two rads in in for xtra cooling, but somebody told me that it'd more trouble than it is worth. Alot of work for a little gain.
