hasn't been asked before (recently anyway), so good question!

Without a doubt, Empire Strikes Back is the best SW movie of all time, and itching to stay that way if the next two are anything like episode 1.

Empire Strikes Back is currently the best Star Wars film of all time, bar none. It would be better to compare ESB to A New Hope than Return of the Jedi. Of those first three Return of the Jedi was the worst one. Not that it was bad in comparison to many other movies, it just wasn't as good as episodes 4 and 5. I have always wondered what ROTJ would have been like if the Ewoks had remained more like Wookies like Lucas had originally thought. I am hoping Episode II is much better than Episode I. The sad ending did a lot for making ESB a really solid movie and if he follows suit with Episode II it might be okay.

Two words: Ewoks suck.

I hope and pray that Episode II has a dark tone in the style of ESB. Episode III is probably going to be the last Star Wars film, and there's no way it will end on a down note.

sorry to disappoint you, but remember how episode 4 started? ALL the jedi were wiped out, the Empire overthrew the Old Republic, and Darth Vader betrayed Obi-Wan

Yo,
If Lucas would have nuked all references to the Teddy Bear folks (the Ewoks), it'd have been a much stronger movie. Return of the Jedi, with the Ewok stuff, seemed like a Lucas sell out, a film aimed at marketing and selling as much toy product as possible. Commercialism.

Imagine if Lucas had released a version of Return of the Jedi with all the Ewok stuff edited out, like Mulcahy did for the Planet Zeist in Highlander2?
