I'm currently enroled at Philadelphia University (used to be Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, don't come here unless your are a design major!) and am majoring in Computer Science. I have applied for Penn State in the spring. Now my question is, between Computer Science and Computer Engineering, which of the two has more a future? By future I mean job secrurity and steady sallary increase. I think this programing thing sucks, but I can do it. As far as Comp Eng I have been building computers since I was 13 and trouble shoot the network at my dad's work when it goes down, because their computer tech is also their janitor, but that's another story. So guys, in your opinions which is a smarter decision in today's economy, and current job scene?

Do like I did ... get a degree in Political Science and then go into the computer field ... lol

When I was in college, there was no such thing as a Computer Science degree. I came out with a B.S. in political science and decided to change career paths to computer networking. I am a network administrator and make the same, and sometimes more, as the guys with the CSE degree ... so in the long run, the degree field is not what matters, it's your knowledge of the field and the quality of work you do that counts.
