Which iPod would you rather have?

I just feel like the new ipod touches have so little space, but they do have a lot of cool features. what i dont really know how id deal w/ is working out with it, or raising the volume while its in my pocket. the touch has free net if youre in a wifi area, right? anyways, thoughts?

Unless you absolutely need to carry 10,000 songs in your pocket at all times, by all means get the Touch.

Oops, I clicked on Touch but mean to vote Classic.

If you are ONLY using it for music, then I would recommend the 80gb simply because it can hold a ton of music. The Touch is great, but unless you are really going to use the other features the Classic is awesome for just plain music with a ton of storage.

I think I'd perhaps rather have the touch but from a cost per gb perspective I just can't justify spending the extra cash. I also like having all my music with me.

The touch just has too many cool features to pass up. Unless you only care about playing music, I'd go touch

I have just recently picked up a Touch, and while the device is quite sexy, I still prefer the functionality of the iPod Classic for just simply music/podcast playback.

So you have to ask yourself the question, will you want to do more with your iPod? If you are going to do anything more than listen to music/podcasts/audiobooks, then I would grab a Classic. However, if you want to also watch videos, surf via WiFi, have your address book/email available always, etc... (many more features), then pick up the Touch. The 8GB might be limiting, but you can easily setup different playlists to sync depending on your mood, and go back any forth fairly easily.

I'd love to get an iPod Touch, the more memory the better. But my Sansa is only 4GB in size and it's been fine for 2 years now. 8GB would be nice, but 32GB is enough to get me excited.

It always amazes me to see people ask what they should get when they post absolutely nothing about what they intend to do with the device and their usage habits. How can anyone pretend to know what to suggest?

PS. I know the OP asked which one you think is better, but the context of the question is really "which one should I get"?

i like the touch because it's a toy. I would hate to use it for a music player primarily though. The apple click wheel is almost perfect, I'm afraid they'll eventually change it just to change and it will be terrible. All they need to add is audible announcements so I can use it w/o looking in the car.

as it stands in the car, it's easy to do next song when i want to, but that's all I can do. the ipod touch I'd be screwed. It's also easy to control in your pocket if you need to. I would hate to have to pull out the ipod touch while walking to class or something. Namely, I just don't want anyone to know what I have, heh.

I personally wouldn't go with the 8gb ipod touch, it just not enough memory for what it does.

I have an iPhone that I carry around day-to-day (which is why I got the iPhone and not the iTouch, for the phone aspect), however when I go to the gym I use a first generation Nano. I love the clickwheel functionality to death while working out.

I don't think I'd like using a Touch or an iPhone at the gym or while driving since you have to look at the screen to navigate through the menus which breaks my concentration.

This is quite true. I kept my iPod Classic when I bought the Touch just so if I were to go out somewhere and didn't want to flash about a Touch, I could.

Yea.. it's been hard to adjust to not having a click wheel, but everything else makes up for it IMO.

The Touch for the features. But if I wanted a player solely for music, I'd rather opt for the Nano over the Classic. Flash storage is more responsive when switching songs compared to hard disk storage.

They really serve 2 different purposes, IMHO. I use my Nano for exercising and other "rough" activities but the Touch can do a lot more, and watching video on it is a much more pleasant experience.
