Which ipod to get?

i'm debating on whether to get the special u2 ipod or a 20 gb with my name engraved in it for when i go off to college next year. What do you guys think?
 
the u2 ipod looks really cool- but i think id wait to see it in person. it could look like crap, you cant really tell that sort of thing from pictures. also, its kind of pointless unless youre going to be spending the extra $100 on the massive u2 download from itunes. check out colorwarepc.com for colored ipods. also, everyone has an ipod these days- its not a bad thing to want to have something different than the standard white. basically, it comes down to how much youre willing to pay for it.
im sure there will be an upgrade to the ipod before then, too. if its really a just for college thing, you might wanna wait for the june WWDC until upgrading.
 
get the new one creative is coming out with, the zen micro.

I think the u2 ipod is cool looking, but you pay 349 for an ipod worth 299.

I have an original 5 gig ipod (apple only) that still works but was begging to be replaced. I was considering getting a new ipod but then realized that for the price of the 40gig plus a little more, i could get a pmc, so i went ahead and got the ceative zen pmc with the 20gig drive. I've been loading it up with music, and put a couple of movies on it. I have to say i love it creative does a heck of a job, thats why i would recommend the zen micro.
Thats what i will get the wife when the old ipod finally gives up it's life.
 
no, 4gb of flash would cost a pretty penny, its a tiny harddrive. flash mem players are useless esp if you have mp3s or oggs or whatever. 128mb? 256mb? hah😛 work intensive job of shuffling songs back and forth or be stuck with just 1-2 cds of music basically. not so hot. the more work something is, less likely u'll use it. don't cost much less then mini either😛

hmm that makes sense, waiting till june. but didn't they make limited quantites of the u2 ipod?
