You would need to install the prog into the registry.
To do this you would need some admin rights. NO GO.
This is the reason that they have security codes etc - to stop ppl wasting work [haha] time and downloading spyware onto their networks.

If you are not 'allowed' to access the net - then if you did get caught, you would prob be fired for compromising the network's security

Yeah, it's called use the internet at home, and not at work. If they wanted you to have internet access at work..you would have it..don't think you are gonna get much help trying to bypass the proxy at your job...

Yep. What he said. Plus, if this company is that conscious of what its employees are doing on their computers, they may also utilize key-logging software to record employees' keystrokes and screen shots as well. I was reading an article on this recently, and so many companies are doing this now that it's scary. I know you didn't want an ethics lecture, but it might be wise to consider how important your job is to you. If you do get past the company's password protection and get on the Web, you could be fired in a heartbeat and also open yourself up to litigation.

I'm not passing judgment or coming down on you in the least. Just letting you know what could happen. I'm all for stickin' it to "big brother" -- in certain instances -- but this is potentially dangerous ground to tread on. :p My advice is to be careful. :)
