A friend wants a new system put together and wants an P4 2.66, an Intel made motherboard (may be open to another brand but is a stickler for dependability/stability), and a Radeon 9700. What are your suggestions for the best Intel board (or other with good evidence)? I jumped ship after the P3's for cheapness sake and for lack of research time I need your help. Tonka very much. :)

If he's a stickler for stability/durability, why's he want a Radeon 9700? Sorry mate...couldn't resist...:p

If you are looking for an Intel branded DDR P4 board, one can't go wrong with this board, the D845PEBT2

Specifications:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 processor (mPGA478)
Chipset: 845PE
RAM: DDR333 support
Slots: 1x AGP(4x)
Onboard 6 channel Audio
Serial ATA RAID
ATX Motherboard
ATA100/66 and 2 Channel Serial ATA Raid 0 and 1 Support
Pro/100 Network Connection

Intel D845PEBT2

I own this board and so do three of my buddies, it is awesome, for an Intel Board.

Be aware that that board does have a potential glitch. Read more here. Not earth-shattering, but rather annoying! I would pick an Asus P4PE variant, there are several with varying levels of features. Or an EPoX perhaps.

Thanks Mech, I had read that one. I'm putting PC2700 in this one so hopefully no issues.
