I really doubt you beat a mustang, even if it was a 6-banger. You must have done a rice fly-by or the guy in the 'stang didn't know you were racing. It was probably a girl though, I always see them in a 6-banger mustang, no self-respecting guy would drive one. My brother had a Mustang GT before he got his 2000 Camaro Z28 SS (no comparison, the ss is a monster!) Anyway, his Mustang GT ate up rice cars like they were nothing and his Camaro annhilates them. However, i would get the S2000 because it's power to weight ratio is awesome, that's one quick car, plus it looks killer though the dealer mark up is insane. [edit] If you can afford a S2000, go for a used NSX instead, you'll be much happier [/edit]

suicidal V6 mustang is quite a bit cheaper than the V8 - a lot better on insurance though!

And no stock Civic DX will take out a V6 mustang...unless that V6 mustang is running with an automatic and the extra weight if its a convertible - then I suppose it could be quite close, but still the mustang would win.

Anyone know the 0-60 on a 6 cylinder auto convertible mustang now...?

I had a Civic LX and I got swatted by almost everything on the road.. I only had it as a commuter car but man if you have a DX beating a 200hp V-6 then you must not have the seats the lights the door handles the glass.. ETC ETC ETC all the way down to (Did you even cut wait by using a rag for a gas cap??) either that or did the guy miss every gear including 1st???

Maybe he was a crappy driver, but I did beat him.

Don't get me wrong, I have respect for domestics too. It was a guy and im guessing it was an auto.

In my own private fantasy world, I would take the Mitsu Lancer Evo. In terms of what is actually available, I would lean toward an Anniversary Edition Maxima. My next car will either be a Maxima or a Subaru Impreza WRX sedan (I will have to test-drive a Subaru when they become available this winter/spring to know for sure).

I am leery of the S2000 because I did not love my old Integra GS-R; VTEC + no displacement = low torque and a whole lotta noise and vibration.

My next car is going to be a slightly used Maxima, VW, or Audi...not sure...

You could do that... or you could always get something fast too

I'll import an Audi S3 or an S6 station wagon :)

I'd love to rip some rice ass up in station wagon :D

You never know, you might have beat en him, but he just wasn't trying probably. I was racing a Civic in my moms J30t (210 horse engine, 3500lbs), I blew him away - really bad. But he came back after I was done and flew by me. This Civic wasn't modded - he wasn't a ricer by any means. So apparently he was still racing after I was done - but how much you wanna bet he went home and told someone he beat a J30t?
