Which horror movie scenes scare you the most?

Not really horror, but when Will Smith goes after his dog in that warehouse in "I am legend" I almonst couldn't take the tension.

Maybe because I liked the dog.
 
The original Exorcist. Didnt help that I was only 14 when I first saw it, but to this day the stair crawl scene creeps me out.....

while all the graphic scenes definitely probably left ridiculous mental scars in my head, ironically, the scene that disturbed me the most when i was a kid featured these two words:

help me
 
clown scene and tree scene in poltergeist. i can't sleep if there's a tree right in front of the bedroom window to this day.
 
Yeah the poltergeist clown is right up there....

One that always bugged me was in Salem's Lot, when the kid's dead friend comes flying up to his window out of the mist and scratches on the glass. Something about the look of the kid and the music.....
 
The Exorcist remains the scariest movie I have ever seen. Still cannot watch it in its entirety even though I am a huge horror fan. The captain howdy scene scared me the most I think.
 
I thought The Strangers was pretty chilling, simply because shit like that can and does happen all the time. If I ever get to thinking about it when I'm home alone at night, I avoid looking out the windows. I generally think slashers are extremely boring, and not even worth watching most of the time. But The Strangers, now that was pretty scary.

Most people I've recommended it to disagree, but I thought The Fourth Kind was also pretty scary. It's hard to make a good movie about alien contact, but I thought The Fourth Kind did an awesome job, and I found some parts to be pretty damn awesome/scary.
When she falls asleep while recording her notes onto the tape recorder, and then hears herself getting dragged out of the room by aliens speaking ancient Sumerian. The ending, where they're trying to exorcise that one lady, and she's all contorted and twisted, and again, screaming the ancient Sumerian language. The owls were also a nice touch.

Insidious was just...awesome in every way. I would say this movie is probably my favorite horror movie of all time.
Just about everything about this movie I thought was awesome. The villain, the crew they bring in to help Dalton, the techniques they use, seriously, everything. Loved this movie. Especially the main villain at the end, sharpening his claws to that Tiny Tim song. I'll never be able to listen to hear that song again and think of this movie. Can't think of a movie that scared me as much as this one.

I didn't like the Paranormal Activity movies the first time I saw them, but I came around eventually. Saw the first one in theaters due to the hype, and I think that's what killed it for me at the time. I was expecting something absolutely terrifying, and it didn't quite deliver. Saw the 2nd one, and liked it quite a bit more than the first.
The parts where they get pulled out of the room, especially in the 2nd one. Some nights when I'm home alone, and my mind starts wandering, and I picture that scene in the 2nd where she's trying to run up the stairs and she gets pulled by the leg. Sometimes makes me get up the stairs a bit quicker.

The Last Exorcism had some pretty chilling moments too. The ending was meh. Cool idea, but, didn't quite live up to the first half. Still a good horror flick though.
When the crew falls asleep, and the girl picks up the camera, and beings walking around while the film is rolling. That was awesome.

When I was a kid, the guy ripping his skin and face off in front of a mirror in Poltergeist was scary to me.
Now it just looks ridiculous but it was scary back then.
 
Nothing, I will say that Buried with Ryan Reynolds kept me from breathing well afterward and I had a hard time getting to sleep. No one can ever say he is a bad actor after watching that movie.
 
As many here have already mentioned, there were many creepy scenes from the Exorcist. Also, some really scary scenes in the Omen as well.

I guess it also depends on what you consider a horror movie. The scene in Aliens where
the Marines lift up the head of the colonist woman they think is dead (stuck in alien gunk), and she opens her eyes really creeped me out as well, as did the ensuing "Kill me" pleas
.

The Event Horizon scenes with
the dead wife with her eyes gouged out
were definitely creepy as well. Come to think of it, there were a few scenes in Event Horizon that were disturbing.

The scenes from the Descent where the girls were trapped/stuck while spelunking. The rest of the movie was scary too, but it didn't stick around in my head as much as that.

The final scene/twist from Ringu.
 
Watching the Ring the first time was scary, but looking back on it, its a pretty bogus film. Ringu is far worse and lame.
 
Stupid Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where the guy rips out the other guy's heart. My dad turned the TV off after that and we went and played ball outside to try and calm down. I was pretty young then too.
