I believe it's the ALX-800, but I like the Volcano 7+ more:)

The ALX800 is an excellent heatsink. I'm very happy with mine as it keeps my 64w (max) Athlon under 40c load with a 24cfm Panaflo L1a and Arctic Silver 5.

I doubt it, because the ThermalRight and ThermalTakes are aimed differently.
The ALX-800 and Volcano 11 are the best of those, and I'd trust the ALX-800 + Panaflo as a better overall solution. It's about even with the good old AX-7 (just a hair behind the SLK-800) with a reasonably quiet fan (Panaflo L), and only starts sucking if you undervolt that to get some real quietness going on.

Ceramique is cheaper and works beatifully. It performs really well and it's quite silent (silent boost).

Ceramique is nice 'cause it's really easy to work with. Also, you could just get the 2.7g one. Not as much value, but it's suprising how far goop goes. I ahve one of those and a rat shack 3g tube...they last practically forever.

Just buy an all copper Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu. Costs in, cools superbly and is very quiet even at full chat. Running my o/c P4 3.4 at 3.7gigahertz and normal operation temps are mid 30's. Today saw 45C after long download of a PDF file. What more can you ask of an air cooled heatsink?

The lazy thing doesn't even do the laundry! I can ask it that all day, but no...

Look, I have both Zalman 7000Aal/cu (all cooper weights too much and difference in cooling is not even 1% better) and Silent Boost.

Zalman:
Pros: Very quiet, very good performer, good looking, 92mm fan.
Cons: huge (may not feet in your Mobo/case), you can't replace the fan

TT Silent boost:
Pros: Silent (not as much as Zalman but quite silent still), you can replace the fan, very good performer, feets everywhere
cons: not as good looking (but that's just me :) ), a little more noisy (but you can always replace the fan, 80mm fan instead of 92mm.

Both are great (two of the best) and perform very well (zalman a little ahead). Now you decide, none of them is going to bottleneck your overclocking.

* Do you want the absolute best cooling, no matter how loud or at any cost?
* Do you want the best cooling you can get, no matter how loud but dirt cheap?
* Do you want the best cooling you can get that's quiet, at any cost?
* Do you want the best cooling you can get that's quiet, but dirt cheap?

Give us something to work with or stick to your original 3 HS. :p

I stay away from pretty much anything made by Thermaltake. After my experience with their Volcano 6cu+, their extremely poor noise/cooling ratio has pushed me away from their products.

Honestly, I don't think you will get a Barton 2500 to 3200 speeds with this cooling. My Barton 2500 is at 2230mhz, which is just over the 3200+ speed of 2200mhz, and I have pretty heavy air cooling. My Thermalright AX-7 with a Delta 80cfm (sounds like a vacuum cleaner) and my dual 130cfm Delta case fans gives me CPU temps of 30.5c idle and around 36c load. And yes, this is as high as I could get the CPU without it crapping out in Prime95.

If you truly want the best performance at any noise level/any cost, buy yourself a Thermalright SLK-900 (or and SP97, not sure how they perform though) and a 119cmf Vantec Tornado, then get some good case fans and have at it. If you want performance without too much noise, I recommend a Thermalright SLK-800 and this YS-Tech 48.5cmf 80mm fan.

EDIT: Oh, didn't notice that you were only interested in those 3. If that is the case, go with the Thermalright no question about it.
