Which HDs for Raid0

Hey guys,

I was planning to buy 2x 1TB WD Caviar Black for Raid 0. My intention was to activate TLER with the software, but it seems that WD has disabled the feature in the new firmware.
Are these HD still reliable for Raid 0 ?
Unfortunately I can't afford paying the double for RE3 or RE4 HDs.
What should I do ?
Which HDs can I buy for the same price with the same high performance for RAID0 use?

Att,

Get a set of Spinpoint F3s. They are faster, cheaper, and quieter then the Blacks, and Samsung isn't forcing people to chose whether they want RAID or nonRAID disks like WD does now.

But ya, make sure to keep good backups.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I've been thinking about these. They are in some aspects faster than the Caviar blacks and cheaper. If you say they are quieter, I also believe. The only downside is their acess time, which is 2-3ms higher.

If you are shooting for access time, buy a small SSD for $100.

Throwing an SSD into the equation makes the difference between the Black and the F3, seam like two types of penguins, competition in a soaring contest with a seagull.

God, I've only made an observation. I have NEVER said acess time was what I was looking for.
For instance, I have a SSD for my OS and most used programs.

Actually, I have to apologize. As you can easily notice, I'm not a native speaker so I may have understood you wrong.

Sorry.
