trying to decide between a 1ghz Tbird and 1.1ghz Tbird, but i've been mainly intel for a while. what chip OCs farther, and what are the chances? about to order the chip from icompz.com and the price difference is about $46. i don't mind paying the extra bucks though if it OCs farther, just looking for the highest number possible without busting the budget on a 1.2ghz.

this is on an MSI K7T Pro2-A. Artic Silver and an Alpha PAL6035 w/ Sanyo Denki fan on the way as well. Fong Kai 302 case

From the posts I've seen, the 1.1's hardly overclock at all, and the 1.0's will do at least 1.1, and many of them go higher.. save yourself $45 and get the 1gig..O/C to 1.1 plus

Not really true.. the 1 gig chips arn't as good as the 1.1 generally speaking.

Otherwise AMD would have a 1.1 on them! It is most likely that it failed AMD stability tests at 1.1 so the brought it down to 1.0. If you have better cooling then their default test I am sure it would run fine at 1.1.. But I do believe the 1.1 will overclock better...even though i just fried one!

also you could get the green core(aluminum) and not the copper blue core with the 1.0
