Which hardware modem is the best out of these?

also any program I can use to stress or benchmark these modems?

I have the Supra, so obivously thats my choice. I can say that it stood up to three people sharing a 56k connection, that is until we got cable. its reliable though.

I have a Multitech MultiModem USB, and it's by far the best modem I've ever owned. OK, so I've only owned a few, and I admit the others were pretty bad, but the plug 'n' play USB is great, and it doesn't even need a power cord like other external modems. I've never had a problem with it, and I've always gotten decent connect rates, even at my house where I used to get bad ones with another modem. Maybe they upgraded the lines, maybe it's because I got a better modem.

To be honest, you'll be good with just about anything you get. There isn't a HUGE range in quality with modems made in the last few years.

a few people have told me Multitech makes solid modems. I know the Multitech has a Lucent chipset and the Diamond has a Rockwell chipset. No one has told me anything good or bad about the Boca. Which chipset is better for a hardware modem? Lucent or rockwell?

I agree that Multitech is the modem to by. They make pretty nice stuff. I deal with these at work, and haven't seen any real issues. Our clients use them for dialing into the network for processing credit card transactions.
