Come on, you know you miss moving jumpers, plugging in cards and having a conflict then pulling the card back out, changing them again.

Or best of all finding out that sometimes no matter how you map your resources your brand new sound (or other) card won't work with your network (or other) card installed!

Mine was 6800 Ultra. Saved up for 6 months to purchase the card (Was a student at the time). Remember firing up Halo to have a look at the difference from my fx5700. The difference was mind boggling, going from running everything at low res medium settings and stuttering to everything maxed out and smooth.

The other one would have to be going from an AMD k6-2 500 to a P4 C 2.8ghz. Everything was just ridiculously faster and for once you could effectively multitask (Best of all it wasn't crashing all the time).

My Radeon 32mb (R100 series). The first GPU I bought. I remember firing up X-Wing Alliance with that thing and being blown away. You could see lasers hitting the shields, sparks when you took damage. That thing was impressive at the time.

Mine was building an Athlon 2800+ Barton rig back when AMD could hang with Intel.

My uncle gave me a pair of ARCNet cards back in the mid-90s. That got me started on all things networking.. 2Mbps over coax baby!! I remember playing a few MotoRacer and Descent LAN games over that link.

I'd also have to say my old Tandy TL/2..
