Which hard drive?

Hmmmmm ... little confuse.

SATA or IDE?
If i go with IDE, Ultra ATA-100 or ATA-133.
ATA-100 has an 8MB buffer and the ATA-133 has 2MB.

This is for a server running FreeBSD. No need for SCSI for what we're doing.
 
I like SATA if only for the cables. You won't get a real speed boost over IDE though. No clue as to whether FreeBSD can play nice with SATA drives though.

Yes, a little worry about this. I read something AFTER posting this thread and it seems there isnt really much of a speed boost unless I decide to go SCSI.
 
You're asking about interfaces, but you seem to be talking about specific drives, so why don't you give more details about the drives?

The drive itself is going to matter more than the interface.
