I have win98SE installed on an ibm 75gxp 45 gb right now. I am looking for a new hard-drive both because the other one is running out of space, and because i want windows 2000. i am thinking i will be able to dual boot if i have both OSes installed on separate drives. Anyways, I am not sure which hard-drive to get, even what size. I was thinking I should get another 45 GB so that I can put the two hard-drives in RAID 0 if I ever want. But now I am leaning towards getting a bigger hard-drive.

I looked at storage review, and did a search on the forums here. It seems people are recommending Maxtor D740X. But WD1000 BB SE seems to beat it hands down. So, I am not sure which one to go for.....

Any input will be appreciated.

yes, the WD1000BB-SE would seem to be a good choice, according to storagereview it's supposed to have extremely good performance

Install Windows 98 first and then Install Win2K - the Win2K setup will detect the 98 installation - no problems.

ive had 98se and 2k in dual boot with 1 harddrive

Pyramix: I'd recommend getting the wd100 more cuz your 75gxp is likely to die soon
