agreed, not everyone can play 13 hours a day.

It took 2 damn days to hit lance corporal. Just stop sucking.

How do you actually unlock the weapons anyway? i play a lot, but not usually on ranked servers because they tend to be more laggy.

You simply have to get enough points. 1000 to unlock one. 10,000 to unlock the second. 25,000 to unlock the 3rd. Etc.

I unlocked the Assault upgrade first.

I've never used the grenade launcher until a couple of days ago. Now that I'm using the grenade launcher a bit more now, I should've upgraded to either the Medic's, Support's, or AT's gun.

It was between the .50 cal sniper and the G36C. After reading about the rifle still not being a 1-shot 1-kill, I went with the G36C. I'm very happy with it.

DAO-12 all the way, the thing simply owns up close. My next unlock most likely medic, since it's my 2nd-most played kit.

I'll probably start a couple of new accounts and exclusively play the sniper, support, etc. so that i can unlock their class weapons. it takes too damn long to go from lance cpl to cpl.

Unlocked the scoped auto for the medic. It owns against infantry, but sucks against armor/air. My next option is to probably unlock the specops, as it is the best class against infantry/armor.

i unlocked the sniper rifle. It was the only thing that I think added something to the unlocked default weapons...in that it could shoot through glass to kill/hurt a heli pilot. All the other weapons didn't seem like much of an improvement over the standard ones. Possibly the assault because I hate the sight that's on the default weapon when you zoom. I don't think the unlockable spec ops weapon is much different from the standard one, but tell me if I'm wrong. I'm debating whether or not to unlock that next. I'm pretty happy with the sniper unlock because I've been using it alot lately. I've actually managed to shoot and kill three choper pilots. :)

How do you unlock a weapon? I finally unwrapped my BF2 last night and installed it. Have not looked at the manual at all.

You'll get a prompt the next time you log on when you get enough points.

You need to play on ranked servers and get highier ranks. After getting private first class you will be ableto unlock weapons as you increase in rank.

I've unlocked the DAO (Anti Tank), the G36C (Spec Ops), and the L8A51 (Medic).

That's the order I'd do it again, too. The L8A51 is just too unpredictable. It's really strange and difficult to get used to. When it works it's sweet, but too often I see errant shots that don't seem like they should be errant.

The G36C is nice and close and medium range, but I find that the scoped Spec Ops kits are more usable since Spec Ops are usually fighting from a distance. As a Spec Ops, I'd prefer to snipe an Assault solder rather than engage him at close/medium range.

The DAO, on the other hand, I use exclusively when using the AT class. The thing is badass at short range. At medium or long range, you run.

The point values you see earlier in the post are now lowered so at 10500 or so I had 5 out of 7 unlocks. My first one was the L85A1, followed by DAO-12, G36C, G3, and M95. My next one will be PKM as I have no trouble at all using pump or auto regular shotty for the engineer. I've honestly went on 20 kill streaks with the G3 despite a smaller clip and no nade launcher. Plus you won't get the nade lamer message ;)

I took the sniper upgrade because I was getting pissed off at heli pilots and thought that it would be good to be able to shoot them out of the sky. Turns out it is way too much effort to snipe them.

You can, BTW you can snipe out the helipilots with the default sniper rifle, I've done it.

No offense, but I'm going to call bullshit on this.

As for the the thread that was posted 5 months ago that you just bumped.

G36C - Kick ass
M95 - Sucks
G3 - If you can use it properly, it's kick ass
PKM - Nice gun, but I still don't like support
Jackhammer - Awkward to use. Pump-action shotguns are more powerful. Long reload time.
L85A1 - Three words: Random deviation blows. It's pathetic that the AK-47 is more accurate.
DAO-12 - No explanation needed.

------------------

Not much experience with the special forces unlocks, but I'll probably grab a G36E. I've always liked that gun every time I picked it up.

Yes it will.

I chose the Anti-Tank DAO-12. Back when very few people had very many unlocks, it was a force to be reckoned with.

Now with the sheer numbers of PKMs and F2000s, the DAO doesn't seem as special any more.

I unlocked G36C for spec ops because I got killed by the G36C and G36E way more than other weapons. I figure if all the clanners are using it it must be overpowered. Then I did the PKM, but support still sucks, so I'm hoping the next patch will make that unlock more useful. If I ever get to the next unlock, I will do the G3 or DAO-12. I was gonna do the L85A1 next but from what I read here I shouldn't bother. I didn't think a shotty would be that useful but I guess it could be good.

Damn, I only want SF expansion just to unlock more weps like the G36E (cause I like medic a lot but the weapons in reg BF2 kinda suck).

edit: Yes the F2000 seems cheap as hell... all the clanners love it. When I happen to pick up a kit with it I always do pretty damn well before getting taken down.

I dont know any of the model names but ive unlocked the sniper, medic, spec ops, and assault so far. I would have to say i like the medic and specops best for their accuracy, the sniper unlock flat out sucks, and assault isnt what its beefed up to be. duragezic i would suggest you go with the L85A1 (given that is the medic one) it is like the spec ops but packs a little more of a punch.

Why? I was on a hill side on that chinese map (with the grassy area forgot the name) and there was a pilot with a gunner taking off, I sniped the passenger compartment where the guy's body/head was and as he was taking off, the plane crashed cause I sniped him and it says that I kill them both. Theres no reason for him to fly up and go faceplant into the ground after taking off... And he had been flying before so I doubt he was screwing up...

The map is Dragon Valley.

The pilot probably paniced and crashed. You only got the points because you were the last to inflict any damage on it.

Either that or it was a newb pilot who didn't know how to fly. Either way, You won't be able to repeat it.
