which GT has the best stock cooling

I'm thinking the Leadtek or the Evga

I've read in a few places that the BFG doesn't have the best stock cooling but I'm not sure whether to believe it or not.

thanks

eVGA has stock cooling, since eVGA is the maker of "nVidia-branded" video cards (such as Sapphire is to ATI). BFG's cooling actually isn't too bad but Leadtek does have the best cooling by far. But some of their heat sinks and fans are kinda unwieldy.

Why does Gainward get left in the cold? Their cooling solution on their Golden Sample cards is far superior to the Leadtek, plus they warranty their GS GT cards to Ultra speeds.

galaxy, galaxi is arctic coolings first nv silencer customer. they come with it stock like his (ice cool 2? series) and sapphire (toxic series or whatever its called) with the ati silencer. i dont think leadtek beats that.

Thermalrock, the 6600GT looks like it has a totally different cooling design than Gigabyte's 6800GT. You'll probably be OK with that one.

dunno bout the 6 series but gainward is amazing. I have a ti4200, and you would think overclocking it is not even working, it stays so cool. But the BFG has a liftime warranty, so I guess that counts for something.

I would say Leadtek has the best stock cooler,

But I think the way to go is, to get the NV Silencer 5, that thing paired up with some AS5, ICE COLD

NV5 is known not tobe any better then a Ultra cooler.
in fact ~ its garbage

I would like to see where these "Facts" are that state its garbage, I have not seen any negative tests about this cooler. And the ones I conducted myself proved it to be a excellent alternative cooling solution.

There was a drop in temps with the NV5 & AS5 compaired to stock ultra cooler & AS5

I don't know...based on this review, the guys are fairly impressed with it - Review Now I dont think it's worth $35 since then you are getting awfully close to X800XT pricing which has a quieter cooler and faster performance than 6800GT.

Gainward is supposed to be very loud (they have a BIOS or a firmware/driver update for the fans I think on their website).

Leadtek is supposed to be one of the quietest cards. It comes bundled with SplinterCell Pandora Tomorrow and Prince of Persia making it one of the best deals as well.

My Leadtek 6800GT came defected.... and now what sucks is i have to wait for another 2 weeks..
RMA- They are sending me a slip in the mail that takes 3 days to arrive.. then i ship it out.. takes 3 days to arrive there.. then they send me another Leadtek 3 more days til arrival.. 9 more bloody days

yes me too, i would assume its not much different than the ati silencers that sapphire and his use on their radeons which are known for very good cooling.

I have the galaxy 6800GT with nv5 cooling as standard. More important then the extra cooling is the fact it is much quieter. Galaxy is much better then fitting an nv 5 aftermarket because you don't need invalidate your warranty.

Before I purchased a 6800gt, I used a HIS Excalibur 9800pro ICEQ, which already came equipped with Arctic Cooling Solution, I was very impressed with the increase in OC I was able to get, I attribute that to the cooling solution on the HIS card.

That's why when I switched to Nvida and the 6800GT, I thought it was worth while to slap on a NV5, they do cool better then a stock cooler and are much much quieter

ya its ridiculous to call the arctic cooling stuff garbage, all their stuff performs very well and is rather inexpensive, im pretty impressed with all their products. my freezer64 gives me slightly better temps than my thermal right xp90 while being pretty much silent, their case fans are quiet for the ammount of air they move, i even ordered their t1 silent case to check it out even tho its kinda ugly. ill post about it as soon as i have it up and running.

now calling the silencers garbage is even more ridiculous. that thing is quiet, cools better than any other air cooling solution for video cards and ffs it blows the hot air out of your case immediatly. what more could he possibly want from a 25 bucks device?
