GTA4? Not with that CPU. Or that RAM.

Dont waste money on a graphics card, you need a new PC.

I remember running that processor back in 2002/2003 with my Radeon 9700 Pro. I was playing Serious Sam TSE and Jedi Knight 2 on it, LOL.

guys total troll post, new member, 1 post, how did you guys not think this was a troll.

GTA 4 one of the most CPU intensive games ever, P4 one of the worst CPU's ever, do the math.

I've got a Barton 2800 gathering dust that's about equivalent to the OP's system. I can't imagine running any Games on it these days. (My total lack of an AGP Card to use in it notwithstanding)

Nah, you can still play L4D, CS:S on an older Athlon XP system. Not great but hey, playable and large user base.

Ya, I played CS:S on it before retiring it, that's a pretty old game now. I'm sure some games will still work on it, but those Games are few and far between these days.

Sli gtx 465

Are you serious ?

First of all, I highly doubt he has a SLI motherboard with a P4. Second, the power supply wouldn't be able to hand it. And three.....more than likely no PCIE either.

And final, GTX465 ? With the GTX460 ?

Not that the GTX series is relevant anyway.

I'm pretty sure he was joking, for all the reasons you noted.

No, what you need is 2 x Voodoo 2.

In SLI.

Oh yeah. The original best. You'll be playing Quake 2 in 1024 x 768 in no time.

My brother was until recently using my old Athlon XP machine. It made several trips to and from my university town (1000kms) and then got on a plane and flew about 7000 miles to London. And survived!

Hence why I said are you serious :)

Just the other night, I found an old ATI 9600 non-pro passive lying around here.

Still has a ATI red sticker right on the PCB.

I remember "trying" to play Doom 3 on it way back when. And the flashlight wouldn't even emit any light :) At least until I got the 9800Pro.

4650 is available in AGP, and would be the most powerful GPU that PSU and machine could fit. Which would still be limited in plenty of scenarios by CPU and RAM, but at least he could crank the eye candy up on his 1024x768 CRT.

But if the OP is not a troll the real advice is: sell/give away the museum piece, get a computer from the later part of this decade. That one is too ancient to salvage.

Seriously, who bought P4 processors? Those were the days when AMD was king. I think I went strait from P3 then to AMD for a long time, then strait to Core2.

Pretty much all OEM's were still Intel, and there were a ton of surplus chips on the used markets. Did you not see the lawsuits?
